Vanilla Tray Bake Recipe

It’s birthday season for us, which means we need a quick and delicious cake recipe to feed quite a few people. So what better than a vanilla tray bake topped with hundreds and thousands and a bunch of white chocolate?

This is a simple and delicious recipe, which we bake in the same tray we serve from, meaning less mess – yeah!!!

Pre-heat the oven to 180oC before you get started.

Vanilla Tray Bake Recipe

  • 250g Caster Sugar
  • 250g Butter
  • 1tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 250g Self Raising Flour
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Tinfoil Roasting Tray (Available in most stores)

Icing

  • 200g Butter
  • 400g Icing Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Hundreds and Thousands
  • White Chocolate of choice to top (we used buttons and a few other things we found in the shop)

Making this cake is simple. All you need to do is cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract until well combined, after that add in the rest of the ingredients, combine well and then transfer the mixture to the tray. Make sure the mixture drops off a spoon, if not add a little more milk and combine again until you have a perfect consistency.

Place in the oven for around 15-20 minutes until you get a clean knife when poking the middle of the cake. After that take out the oven and leave to cool.

Once cool, simply make up the icing by creaming the butter with the sugar and vanilla extracts, adding the milk until combined. Spread the icing on the cake, add your toppings as you like and it’s delicious and ready to serve.

Enjoy!
