Coffee and Walnut Cake Recipe

Cakes aren’t just for kids, they are for adults too. So what better cakes for adults than coffee and walnut.

This coffee and walnut cake tastes fantastic and is so easy to make. So let’s get started.

First, pre-heat the oven to 180c and grease two cake tins.

Coffee and Walnut Cake Recipe

Cake recipeĀ 

225g Unsalted butter
225g Caster sugar
4 free-range eggs
50ml Strong espresso coffee
225g Self-raising flour
75g Walnuts

Method

First mix the butter and sugar together to form a creamy mixture. Next add in the rest of the ingredients and mix until well incorporated.

The final step for the cake is to divide between the two cake tins and bake for around 25-30 mins until springy. Also try placing a knife through the middle of the cake and if it comes out clean it’s ready.

Finally, place the cakes aside to cool and then turn onto a wire rack.

Buttercream Recipe

125g Unsalted butter
200g Icing sugar
50ml Strong espresso coffee
Walnuts to decorate

Method

To make the buttercream blend together the icing sugar, butter and coffee until you have a thick, stiff mixture. Next cover the middle of the cooled cake with the buttercream, sandwich the cake together and then cover the top half of the cake with the buttercream. Finally, sprinkle the walnuts on top.

Serve and enjoy.
