Muesli is pretty easy to make and a healthy way to start the day. You can use many different types of ingredient, but I’ve just gone for simple here, with oats, nuts and dried fruit as the base. You can add as much as you like too, although I tend to opt for two parts oats, four parts nuts and two parts dried fruit, with nothing else added.

Muesli Ingredients:

  • Oats
  • Pecan Nuts
  • Walnuts
  • Hazelnuts
  • Toasted Almonds
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Dates
  • Raisins

First thing I usually do is fry the oats in a dry frying pan until they start to toast slightly, I then add in the nuts and fry for a few more minutes, take off the heat and then add the dried fruit. Once cool I store away in an airtight container ready to use whenever I feel like some amazing (better than the shop) muesli.

You can add anything you like really, just make sure you have plenty of oats mixed in with your dried fruit and nuts. As a rule, if you take a spoonful it should have a good mix of all the ingredients.

I generally make a big batch in advance and then serve with No Fat Skyr Yoghurt, a Dash of Honey and some fresh berries. It tastes great and is a brilliant way to start the day.
