Digestives | Recipe

I love a digestive but can’t stand palm oil, which is basically in everything you buy from the shop, so I tend to try and replicate everything I like to eat at home.

Today it is the turn of digestives, which I’ve also made without refined sugar, because why not.

Before we start pre-heat your oven to 180oC.

Ingredients

  • 150g Plain Flour
  • 150g Oats
  • 1/2 Tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 50g Honey*
  • 35g Maple Syrup*
  • 150g Butter (softened)
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1tsp Vanilla Extract

* If you prefer, replace with 120g of caster sugar. Trust us, they are better than a we’ll know brand like this.

These are so simple to make. All you need to do is mix all the ingredients together and then divide into around 12-24 biscuits, depending on the size you want. To do this roll each biscuit into a ball and then flatten until you have a biscuit shape which is around 1/3 inch thick.

Put the biscuits on a tray, giving them some room to expand and baked until golden brown, which takes around 12-15 minutes.

These are so tasty, so you won’t regret the short amount of time you’ll spend to make them.
