Woodfired Meatball Pizza Sandwich: Italian Flavors in Gozney Arc XL

Tender vegetarian meatballs simmered in a simple marinara sauce, topped with grated cheese, and served on a woodfired pizza sandwich.

This Italian-inspired sandwich combines the flavors of woodfired pizza with the comfort of a classic meatball sub. Whether you make your own meatballs and sauce or opt for convenient shortcuts, this satisfying meal is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a crowd-pleasing lunch🍕🍅

To make this sauce simply marinade some garlic with thyme, basil and extra virgin olive oil for up to four hours or even overnight for maximum flavour.

Then add to two tins of San Marzano tomatoes with a teaspoon of sugar (or honey), salt and pepper. Simmer to reduce the water content for at least 15-20 mins and then roughly blend. Leave to cool before use or store in the fridge for use the next day.
